Fun Things to do Before You’re Due

Fun Things to do Before You’re Due

If you’re an expectant momma, you probably have enough tasks on your pre-baby to do list.  But, as the weeks wind down and you get closer and closer to meeting your sweet baby, make sure to add these fun items to your to do list as well.  Pregnancy can be an extremely stressful time, so make sure to find the time to enjoy it with this list of fun things to do before you’re due.

7 Fun Things to do Before you’re Due

Write a Letter to your Unborn Baby

This might sound a little cheesy, but I promise you’ll be glad you did it!  Leading up to your baby’s arrival, there’s so much excitement and anticipation.  Your baby’s whole life is ahead of them (literally).  It’s so nice to capture that excitement, let them know how much they’re and loved, and write out what your dreams for their future.  If you want to take it a step further, you have to check out the Oh Baby Pregnancy Planner.  It includes a pregnancy journal and prompts for you to write your letter to baby.   It’s not only fun for you to look back on, but it’s a priceless gift for your baby in the future.

Go on a Date

Spending time with your spouse before your baby arrives is so important, especially if this is your first.  This is the last bit of time that it will just be the two of you.  Try to make time to go to dinner, go on a date, or even take a baby moon.  Soak in the last bits of time that you’re a family of two.

Get Pampered

You deserve to be pampered at the end of your pregnancy.  Growing a baby for nine months is hard work.  Get a prenatal massage, go get a pedicure (you know you can’t paint your own toes anymore), or go get a fresh haircut.  Once the baby arrives, you probably won’t be paying much attention to yourself, so take advantage of this time to treat yourself.

Book a Maternity Photo Shoot

No matter how big you feel, you’re going to want to look back on this time in life.  Once you’re on the other side of pregnancy, you truly realize how beautiful your baby bump was and how amazing it is that your body can grow a tiny human.  Book a professional photographer, or just have someone snap a few photos of you at the end of your pregnancy.  You’ll be so grateful to have the memories to look back on. (We just had my sister snap a few photos at the pumpkin patch).

Pick Out your Baby’s Coming Home Outfit

If you’re having a particularly rough day toward the end of your pregnancy, take some time to pick out your baby’s coming home outfit.  Staring at tiny, adorable baby clothes is enough to cheer anyone up.  On top of that, picking out the outfit that your baby is going to come home from the hospital in makes everything seem a little more real.  It helps you realize that the time is so close and gives you just the nudge you need to get through the last couple weeks.

Bonus: Create your Birth Plan

Since writing this post, I’ve created a free Birth Plan Template for you to use on the big day!  You can download it here.

Relax

Relaxing when you’re nine months pregnant is easier said than done, but do your best to take it easy, get some rest, and prepare your body for bringing a baby into the world.  Take advantage of your last opportunities to sleep in, lounge on the couch, and take nice long showers.
