20+ Moms Share Their Unusual Pregnancy Symptoms

When I was pregnant with Weston, I couldn’t believe how much my entire body was affected by growing a baby.  Every time I asked Doctor Google about a strange symptom I was experiencing, sure enough, it would pop up that it was associated with pregnancy.  I had heard of all the usual suspects (nausea, cravings, heartburn, and so on), but I was blown away by all the other weird ways in which pregnancy can wreak havoc on us moms.  I knew I wanted to write a post about this topic, but I wanted to gather information from lots of moms, not just share my own experiences.  I reached out to some of my fellow mom bloggers and the result was not disappointing.  Here are some strange pregnancy symptoms, straight from the moms who experienced them!

strange pregnancy symptoms stories

As for myself, I had experienced three strange pregnancy symptoms I had never heard of before getting pregnant.  One was a metallic taste in my mouth.  It tasted like I had been sucking on a handful of pennies.  This one came about before I even took a test.  The second was awful phlegm first thing in the morning, every morning, for the whole first trimester.  And lastly, that darn first trimester had also turned me into a full on vegetarian.  I couldn’t stand the sight, smell, or taste of meat.  It was a rough couple weeks for my carnivore husband.
