Problem Solving Baby Products

Sometimes I wish we had baby showers after our babies are born.  You don’t really know what you need until you start living life with your little one.  Yes, of course, you know you need the basics like a crib, car seat, and stroller, but it’s not until you get into the day to day groove with your baby and start to notice all the areas where you could use a little help.  Over the past year, I’ve come up with several “inventions” to make mom life easier, only to realize that all of these things already exist!  Here’s my run down of the best problem solving baby products!

Ciao Baby Portable High Chair

Our best friends had a baby about five months before us and showed up to a softball game with the Ciao Baby.  I took one look at that thing and had to have it!  I wish I could tell you how much use we’ve gotten out of this thing.  We’ve used it on our front porch, at weddings, at cookouts, at softball games, when we have dinner at a friend’s house, at the pool, when we’re traveling, and so on and so on.  This is now going to be my go-to baby shower gift.

Binxy Baby Grocery Cart Hammock

One of the first things I realized about being a new mom is that grocery shopping is damn near impossible.  You see all these warnings about putting your baby’s carseat on top of the cart, so you stick with being a good mom and put it in the cart.  Only problem is, now you have no where for your groceries.  I remember sitting at a friend’s house one night saying that I was going to come up with a little hammock that connects to the grocery cart so that you put your groceries under the baby.  Finally!  I was going to be rich!  Then I promptly googled the idea and found out it already exists.  Go figure. (Also, check out the picture below.  Could you imagine grocery shopping with twins?)

Puj Hug Hands Free Infant Towel

If you would have showed me this before I had a baby, I would have rolled my eyes.  But, now that I’ve had to wrangle a slippery, wiggly child from a bathtub every other day, I highly recommend this towel!

Crib Rail Teething Guard

I’ve mentioned this product in another post, and I’ll probably mention it again.  Your baby is going to stand up in their crib.  Your baby is going to teethe.  Unbeknownst to me, babies enjoy eating their cribs!  I will never forget going to get Weston after a nap and seeing little specks of crib all over his mouth and in his fat rolls.  I looked at his crib rail and there were teeth marks EVERYWHERE.  I was raising a wild animal.  These rail guards are perfect for protecting your baby and your crib.  They come in five different colors, so your bound to find one that matches your nursery.

Baby Proofing Edgeguard

We have a huge fireplace in our living.  For some reason, when we were house hunting, I had forgotten that my intentions were to raise a family here.  I mean, this thing looks dangerous.  Luckily, we found this edge guard that makes it so much safer for a baby who is learning how to move.  I’m proud to announce that we have not had any fireplace injuries (crap… I hope I don’t jinx myself).

Baby Bum Diaper Cream Brush

Find me a mom who can put Desitin on her baby’s butt without getting it all over herself and her child and I will bow down to her.  Again, this is one of those products that I would have thought, “give me a break,” but for less than $10, why the heck not?

Bundleme Car Seat Cover

Weston was born in November, so it was freezing for the first few months of his life.  Luckily, we were handed down this car seat cover from my sister.  Since you’re not supposed to buckle babies into their car seats with a coat on, this thing is a must!
